The health risks associated with individuals engaged in alternative life styles is not worth the lives of US Servicemen and women. The imminent exposure to harmful or contaminated situations is every minute of everyday in combat situations. I cannot support the wholesale acceptance of these individuals into the armed forces. Religious and Social norms notwithstanding it is a bad game of Roulette being played with the people we count upon to defend us everyday. I have numerous friends who are openly gay and the vast majority of them agree with the statement concerning the Medical contamination risks involved. We are still very good friends and will be.
