First of all, it's very hard for me to write this column. I have heard good things from good people about Patrick Hughes. On the other hand, I haven't been impressed with his political campaign to date, but that's my opinion. I have offered the Hughes campaign a forum for Mr. Hughes to address any pro-family issue he desires, no holds barred, no editing on my part. I have offered this forum to other pro-family candidates who have taken part in a series titled "In Their Own Words". Adam Andrzejewski has participated in the series, so has Don Tracy, Andy Martin, Bill Brady and others.
Some will say what makes RFFM.org so important that Hughes has to take the time to submit an essay or contact me personally--which he has not done despite numerous pleas by me to his campaign for months.
First of all, I am neither a king-maker or king-breaker. The only thing I can say is RFFM.org is growing by leaps and bounds. Soon we will be crossing the 100,000 unique visitors threshold for the last 18 months. That's not too bad for a small Internet operation. Plus, I do not try to generate hits on RFFM.org. I send out columns, articles and open letters in their entirety to my database which is expanding each day. In January, RFFM.org has received literally thousands of hits from American patriots who are looking for information about the candidates they will be voting for in the February primary. I also receive many e-mails asking for information about candidates.
A great source for excellent information is Dave Diersen's GOPUSA Illinois [http://www.gopillinois.com/] daily e-newsletter. Diersen receives at least 17 newspapers a day. Plus, he spends hours browsing the Internet looking for articles related to issues that conservatives care about. I suggest all RFFM.org readers sign up for Mr. Diersen's e-newsletter--which is free--by e-mailing him at [email protected].
Now back to the subject. RFFM.org's motto is: "In a democratic republic, good governance is dependent upon an informed citizenry." I formed the organization over 17 years ago as a ministry, not a business. I am not endorsing any individual candidate in the Illinois GOP primary's U.S. Senate race. In fact, I have yet to decide who I will vote for on February 2nd.
It is entirely possible Mr. Hughes sees no value in participating in RFFM.org's "In Their Own Words" series. If that is his decision, I respect that. However, I think Hughes and his campaign staff should do everything possible to inform pro-family voters regarding his position on the issues.
Now there will be those who will be upset with me because I am writing this column, but it won't be the first or last time. Unfortunately, some--and I emphasis the word some--activists, including leaders of pro-family organizations, have gotten involved in the political process. I think that is a mistake because I have done the same thing myself before. I will be writing a series of columns on that subject soon. By the way, the same should apply to Republican Party Chairman Pat Brady. Brady has obviously violated GOP primary protocol by personally endorsing Mark Kirk and he should resign because of this fact.
Illinois voters should be supplied with information and they should be left to make up their own minds. No group, large or small, should tell anyone who to vote for. But this standard does not apply to general elections. Indeed, our country is in trouble because many Americans have become apathetic, relying on the establishment media alone for information. Hence, our nation is on the brink of social and economic disaster.
But back to Mr. Hughes. It is possible Mr. Hughes and his staff are far too busy to participate in RFFM.org's forum. However, I told Hughes' staff and supporters I would write this column, if I didn't hear from either Hughes or his campaign chairman. And, let me reiterate, this scenario has gone on for many months.
In 2004, every pro-family candidate seeking the Illinois Republican Party's nomination for the U.S. Senate participated in a phone interview with me. I am not bragging. I'm just stating a fact. In 2006, I did not conduct interviews because I lost my eyesight that year and, obviously, we could not perform this service for RFFM.org readers.
I would like to express my thanks to the pro-family leaders who have contacted Hughes on my behalf. They are good people who care about God and country. I told one of Patrick Hughes' high-ranking staffers he had a deadline for submitting something to RFFM.org. In fact, the original deadline came and went and I received nothing, although an essay was promised. I recently extended that deadline, but, again, nothing.
There may be other more troubling reasons why this pro-family candidate refuses to participate in a forum purely meant to share information with voters. But I will leave speculation to others regarding why.
Yesterday, I was promised something from John Arrington and, hopefully, RFFM.org will receive something soon from Arrington's campaign. To be honest, Judge Don Lowery has yet to submit a promised essay to RFFM.org and that deadline is quickly approaching--as is the primary. This is not meant to be an attack on any candidate. I'm just stating the facts.
The RFFM.org series is not open to Mark Kirk. His positions supporting abortion, his votes for bills including hate crime legislation and ENDA (Employment Non-Discrimination Act), his opposition to rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment and much more disqualifies him as a participant in this forum because he is not a pro-family candidate. It's my website/blog. If Kirk doesn't like it, too bad. Kirk can go off on another phony military mission to wherever and avoid all the other candidates, as he has done to date.
By the way, as reported yesterday in an RFFM.org Exclusive, http://rffm.typepad.com/republicans_for_fair_medi/2010/01/rffmorg-exclusive-arrington-martin-hughes-to-face-off-in-abc-7-chicago-gop-us-senate-debate.html only three of the six Republican candidates for U.S. Senate from Illinois will be participating in a debate to be broadcast live from ABC 7 Chicago (WLS-TV) today. Some ABC network owned stations will air the Senatorial debate later Thursday evening. Please look for information regarding when the debate will be broadcast in your part of Illinois.
So Godspeed, Mr. Hughes. I wish you well. In fact, I will pray that Illinois voters choose a candidate which will best serve God, our state and nation.
EDITOR'S NOTE: My apologies go out to GOP U.S. Senate candidate Kathleen Thomas because I have not contacted her personally regarding the RFFM.org series. I will do that today. However, I did write a column about the series being open to pro-family candidates which was posted on October 30, 2009 at: http://rffm.typepad.com/republicans_for_fair_medi/2009/10/rffmorg-offers-forum-to-all-illinois-profamily-statewide-candidates.html

Recently, Dan Proft, who is seeking the Illinois Republican Party's gubernatorial nomination, was quoted in the Daily Herald http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=349698&src=109 regarding his position on the right to life issue.
Here is Proft's response to the query:
"Roe v. Wade is bad constitutional law, inconsistent with our God-given right to life and should be overturned," Proft said. "In addition to an important policy issue, this is a personal issue for me as I was born approximately nine months before the Roe decision and I was adopted. Thus, had the law been a bit different a bit earlier, perhaps the world would never have been availed of my brilliance."
I was shocked when I was informed of Proft's quote. Some say he was simply being jocular in his response which essentially says if Roe v. Wade were enacted before his birth, we would not be "availed" of his "brilliance."
Of course, the quote could simply be a demonstration of Proft's arrogance, but for a moment, let's give him the benefit of the doubt concerning his remarks.
In 1945, Nazi Germany was surrounded by Allied Forces. A number of death camps were discovered by the Russian army (who were heading towards Berlin from the East) and American troops who were closing in on the German capitol from the West. These death camps, including Auschwitz, Dachau and Buchenwald, where millions were put to death in accordance to Hitler's Final Solution, were no longer rumors. Such death camps lead to the demise of nearly six million Jews and four million other human beings who were considered undesirables, enemies of the state or simply old and handicapped. One of the first death camps discovered by the Russians was Auschwitz. Buchenwald was liberated by the 6th Armored Division of the U.S. Third Army on April 11, 1945.
Remember, these were men who had participated in the greatest human conflict in history. 50 million people died in Europe alone. Soldiers who fought their way from Normandy on the Western Front and battled-hardened troops who participated in the Battle for Stalingrad in the former Soviet Union, saw their brothers in arms die in front of them in the most violent ways possible. They witnessed horrors no one should see and, until this day, these brave men, who we now call the Greatest Generation in America, are hesitant to talk about what they went through.
Upon entering the death camps, these battle-hardened individuals were shocked and outraged. Many broke down and wept openly. General George Patton threw up when he walked through one of these murder factories with Generals Dwight D. Eisenhower and Omar Bradley. Patton was so enraged, he ran to a jeep, jumped on its hood and told those in his command, "kill them, take no prisoners." Patton was obviously referring to the remaining battles to end Hitler's reign of terror.
Now, let's suppose God put us in a place where we could see the 50 million innocent unborn who have died in their mother's womb since the passage of Roe v. Wade in 1973. There would be babies a few centimeters in length who were sucked out of their mother's wombs. There would be unborn children who were cut into pieces by abortionists. There would be nearly full-term babies who were outside of their mother's womb, except for their heads, which were punctured by a sharp surgical instrument before their brains were removed. It would be a nightmare scene of the greatest proportions.
Some don't know the details of why Norma McCorvey, the plaintiff in Roe v. Wade, changed her position on abortion. One night while she was working in a Texas abortion mill, she entered a back room where a locked refrigerator stood. McCorvey unlocked the door to the refrigerator and the sight she saw changed her life forever. There were body parts, resulting from abortions, in all shapes and sizes. Some of these body parts were going to be sold, others were going to be disposed of like garbage.
Now, let's get back to Dan Proft's comment. I do not believe there were many jokes made when General Patton was walking through the body strewn landscape where death lingered in every direction. Was Norma McCorvey laughing or making jokes after she saw the results of the work she participated in before her nightmarish discovery? By the way, McCorvey now is an ardent pro-life activist because of what she saw that night.
Here is the operative question. Does Dan Proft understand why so many fight to save the lives of the innocent unborn? It certainly is not a joking matter. Or it simply may be a statement demonstrating hubris of the greatest magnitude.
Let me get personal here. My wife and I had an abortion nearly 30 years ago. We live with that guilt every day of our lives. We never joke about the abortion. We never think if born, our baby could have made us rich and prosperous. We now know we would have loved our child whether our child was perfect or suffered from Down's Syndrome. Perhaps our baby would have only lived for an hour, but we would have had a chance to caress our child, knowing we would see him or her in Heaven one day. The only thing that relieves us from our pain is the blood shed by Jesus Christ for our sin, a great sin for which we are forgiven through Christ's death on the cross.
No, Mr. Proft, it's not a joking matter. The fight for the rights of the innocent unborn is a battle between forces of darkness and light.
I'd like to talk to Mr. Proft and ask how when he stood in front of the Republican Assembly of Lake County in 2009 he could still say he would again help elect a pro-abort candidate (like Beth Coulson) to office.
It's obvious Mr. Proft does not get it and perhaps he never will. In this case, one phrase spoke volumes. Pro-life voters should NOT consider voting for this man in the upcoming Illinois Republican gubernatorial primary on February 2nd.

Brent Rooney is a Canadian researcher and frequent contributor to RFFM.org.
For the first time ever there were SYSTEMATIC Reviews of
the premature birth risk of prior induced abortions in 2009.
100% of three (3) (aka 'hat trick') SYSTEMATIC APB (Abortion
Preterm Birth) studies reported that prior surgical abortions
(including 'suction' abortion) elevate future risk of premature
delivery. Honorable Rep. Henry Waxman (Democrat, California)
has been challenged to find (on or before 1 Feb. 2010) a
SYSTEMATIC APB Review that does NOT find that induced
abortions boost preemie risk. Here is that OPEN Letter to
Hon. Rep. Henry Waxman:
4 January 2010
Hon. Rep. Henry Waxman (D, California)
2204 Rayburn HOB Washington DC, 20515
Open Letter to Hon. Rep. Henry Waxman (D, California)
As a Congressman much concerned with the health
of minority women, including Hispanic-American &
Black-American women, you would not want these
women to be subject to elective surgical procedures with
a plausible higher risk of future premature & handicapped
newborn babies. (I am a medical researcher & lead author
of a recent study that revealed that the most common
abortion procedure in the USA, “suction” (i.e. vacuum
aspiration) abortion, has not been safety validated via a
published animal study; URL:
http://www.jpands.org/vol13no4/rooney.pdf ). As one trained
in the law, you are appalled that all “suction” abortions
violate the 3rd principle 1947 Nuremberg Code, since no
animal testing was ever done;
http://www.jpands.org/vol13no4/rooney.pdf
If you, Hon. Rep. Henry Waxman, can identify any 21st
century SYSTEMATIC review of the APB ( Abortion-
Preterm-Birth ) risk that did not find that prior induced
abortions significantly elevate premature birth risk, please
cite that SYSTEMATIC review on or before 1 February
2010. The only published APB SYSTEMATIC reviews
have found that prior induced abortions significantly raise
preterm delivery risk.[8,9,10] It is hardly news to you, Hon.
Rep. Waxman, or us that Hispanic-Americans enjoy a growth
rate not exceeded by any other group. As documented in the
Appendix to this letter, the evidence is absolutely
overwhelming that women with prior induced abortions
(IAs) boost their future risk of delivering premature newborn
babies; the high U.S. 'preemie' rate much concerns the U.S.
Congress. One might think it possible that Hispanic-American
women could be exempt from the APB ( Abortion-Preterm-
Birth ) risk. Professor Michael Ross (UCLA; <[email protected]>)
was lead author of a 1986 study in which 84% of the women
subjects in Los Angeles were Hispanic-Americans (see reference
4 below). One 'Michael Ross' finding was that women with prior
induced abortions had 31% higher relative odds of delivering a
newborn baby prematurely (under 37 weeks' gestation). Thus,
U.S. legislation that funds elective induced abortions will
promote more preterm births for Hispanic-American women.
We are quite confident that you would never want taxpayer
dollars to fund an elective surgery that harms newborn Hispanic-
American babies. (Copy of the 1986 'Ross' study enclosed).
SYTEMATIC APB reviews are the key.

Fewer Brain Damaged Hispanic-American Newborns Possible
(Brent Rooney (MSc; fullterm40@gmail ))
In under 20 minutes a young pregnant Latina woman can
double her future risk of a brain damaged newborn baby. Premature
babies face higher risk of CP (Cerebral Palsy), autism, epilepsy,
mental retardation (all brain damage injuries). Newborns under
28 weeks' gestation have 129 times the CP risk; those born before
32 weeks face 55 times the CP risk as fullterm (i.e. at least 37
weeks) babies.[Himpens, 1] A surgery never proven safe on animals,
as evidenced by published animal studies, is being performed on
pregnant Hispanic women in the United States.[Rooney, 2] This
surgery boosts a woman's future risk of delivering a premature baby.
[Murphy, 3] Dr. Deirdre J. Murphy explains:
“Induced abortion has been associated with very preterm delivery (<33 weeks) in the French regional EPIPAGE study (OR 1.5, 95% CI 1.1-2.0)[27] and this was confirmed by the International EUROPOP study across ten European countries. [28] The strength of association increased with decreasing gestational age and was consistent across countries with varying rates of induced abortions. The increased risk included idiopathic preterm labour, preterm premature rupture of membranes and antepartum haemorrhage, but not maternal hypertension indicated delivery. In a high-risk population of American women a previous second trimester delivery or termination before 20 weeks was associated with pre-viable premature rupture of membranes or labour (14-25 weeks)[29].” [27, 28, 29 are references #s in Murphy's article, NOT reference numbers in the Appendix you are reading]
In 2009 two SYSTEMATIC REVIEWS & combined data (i.e. 'meta-analysis') studies confirmed the APB (Abortion-Preterm-Birth) risk.[8,9]. The October 2009 'Shah' study was published in the prestigious British Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.[8]
In the U.S. “suction” abortion is the most frequently performed induced abortion surgery. Perhaps, “suction” abortions pose no future 'preemie' risk for Hispanic women. In 1986 UCLA Professor Michael Ross at al. reported on 22 potential 'preemie' risks (e.g.s. cigarette abuse, anemia, prior urinary tract infection).[Ross, 4] Hispanic women dominated this study, comprising 84% of the subjects from the Los
Angeles, California area. Ross reported that women with prior induced abortions significantly raised their preterm delivery odds by a relative 31%.[Ross, 4]
In addition to 'MACE' (Mental retardation, Autism, Cerebral palsy,
Epilepsy) risk preterm babies face higher odds of blindness, deafness,
respiratory distress, infections, etc.[Behrman, 5] “In 2005, 23.9% of all
U.S. births were Hispanic babies, compared to 15% in 1990.”[Hamilton,
6] Thus, the 'bottom line' is:
Fewer Induced Abortions Means Fewer Damaged HISPANIC Newborns
When the American public wakes up to the ABD (Abortion Brain
Damage) risk in 1-3 years, will a political party that opposed elective
abortion benefit or will a party that defended & publicly financed
elective abortions benefit? (I am a medical researcher with a special
focus on premature birth risk factors. The 2003 review study by Brent
Rooney (MSc) & Byron Calhoun (M.D., MBA) led to Texas warning
women about the abortion-preemie risk. Some of the woman warned
are Hispanic-American women in Texas.[7])

Statement of Purpose:
The content of this paper is deliberately intended to stimulate thought and discussion. Informational analysis comprising global security, national security of the
Overview:
A clock is ticking…prior to the clock striking the preverbal midnight, will the 2010 elections arrive and usher in a sweeping repudiation of Obama, the elites in Congress – both Houses, and undo the financial calamity that continues to morph and ooze across America; or will the economic miasma bring even further disastrous consequences and severely erode national sovereignty so a New World Order, a One-World Government with its’ own new currency be no longer speculative or a theory, but a reality. A clock is ticking, and for many folks time is quickly running out as they wait desperately for a rescue. Our Nation’s security, lead standing in the world and sovereignty are also hanging in the balance.
_______
There is a political dimension to a nation’s economy. There also is a philosophical and moral dimension, and you can not separate these from any economic discussion. The economic policies of Obama and his crowd are clearly opposite of the economic policies of a Ronald Reagan, who, arguably, was the last President of the United States who understood free-enterprise and the development of capitalism. President Bush (given his background in business) should have demonstrated more respect and understanding of basic economics, and the belief in small business as a backbone to a healthy economy, but on his watch, toxic debt began to accumulate, balancing a budget ceased to be a priority, and the floodgates to unchecked spending began to open. What occurred to alter his political compass; what, or who, influenced his philosophy?
When a society faces a strong even overwhelming financial crisis like 1929, or when Jimmy Carter was President in the late 1970’s, or presently, there are two time tested strategies in responding: Allow the free market to soar and reignite the economy – Reagan accomplished this quite successfully. Or…throw a lot of federal money at the problem, and empower the state to become all invasive. Socialism leading to Marxism follows the latter response. There are some short-term benefits with the state’s all-reaching involvement; namely, quicker response to damage by those in or facing bankruptcy. The state-run bailouts, however, create long-term dependence, inequities across the board, and actually feed the flames of poverty.
The “change” Obama and his supporters in Congress are creating are coming so rapidly they can barely be seen, and when you can’t see that which is coming at you, you can’t prepare yourself; you can not get out of the way. We had drilled into us as children stay in school, get a high paying job, save your money for a house, and invest everything else in a diversified portfolio of stocks and mutual funds. Most people can not tell you why they did this; except to say, this is the right way to save, the right way to develop financial security.
The moral political compass has been changed; a new and repressive political philosophy has been introduced, and our Nation’s economy is forever changed – just what Obama promised when he was a candidate. We just didn’t get it, and many today are still not getting it. People are stuck in denial as to the political winds that are blowing…winds that are bringing a storm and tidal wave the likes not yet seen in our country. Because the economics of politics ushering in a New World Order and One-World Government are banging at the doors of the United States.
Systematically, calculatedly businesses, jobs, and industries became obsolete! Overnight! Did you see it coming? Did those directly impacted by the close of their business or industry? Those jobs are lost, and it appears forever. What happened with, “stay in school…get a good job…save your money?”
From the beginning of December, 2009, just over a month now, I had three professional financial investment consultants tell me how well the economy is beginning to percolate, and how the prospects in the coming months are even greater!
_______
Prepare for Bad Times Ahead…DO NOT expect this government to help you without suffocating strings attached to their help…Prepare for Bad Times Ahead, and if I am wrong, you will have positioned yourself well and will benefit greatly. If I am correct, you will be positioned to weather the storm gathering strength just off the coast.
Reasons for Concern:
1. Taxes will be rising – on just about everything, probably including your children’s lemonade stand this summer. The elites have printed more money that is not backed by anything except a whim and a prayer, and prayer is about to be outlawed. Our Nation has created so much “magical money” we will not be able to pay it off. So…tax, tax, tax to give the appearance the government is attempting to close the massive deficits. Taxes punish the producers, the businesses that stimulate an economy. Reagan knew this, Obama could care less. Watch for growing “mob mentality” to punish the rich; those folks who pay taxes, own a business and create jobs, they make charitable contributions of all sorts, big and small. The Super Rich who party with the politicos and the elites, and who are elites themselves, will remain untouched.

3. Entire industries have died. Remember the savings and investment strategies the majority followed? Well…many folks depended on the dividends paid by large companies historically considered “blue chip” investments. GE cut its dividend by 68% and JP Morgan by 86%. This means if you are a retiree living on $1,000 a month from GE’s dividend, today you’re receiving $320 instead. JP Morgan, you’re living on $140 rather than $1,000.
4. China, Russia, Saudia Arabia are all threatening to abandon the U.S. dollar as the world’s recognized reserve currency. Interestingly, they all “own” a piece of

6. Unemployment continues to rise. During the Great Depression of the 1930’s and early 40’s, the unemployment rate was 24%. We are close…and the numbers do not reflect those who are underemployed or who have just given up.
7. Technology is replacing employees. This will add to unemployment.
8. Most college grads are obsolete upon graduating. Our educational system is still not preparing graduates for the changed marketplace. Frugality has become “OK” and is even necessary. For 30-years, purchases of the latest styles were “in”. People went into debt to look cool with all the latest styles and toys. No more. Money is not there…this will only add to the economic crisis.
9. Commercial real estate is about to experience a tsunami; offices and shopping centers are becoming vacant at alarming rates. This will further pull down local and state economies, and create even more fear and lack of confidence – not to mention additional layoffs. This coming crash will represent a $1-trillion hit to our Nation’s economy. Very serious situation developing here.
10. We have generations of Americans who have never experienced a serious, long drawn-out decline. If a person is only used to an expanding economy, that person is not prepared for a life in a deflating or hyperinflating economy. Psychologically, emotionally, supply-wise, people are not prepared to weather an economic storm still gathering strength off-shore.
11. Television and newspaper advertising is way down. The ripple effect from this will further create problems for local and state governments, charities.
12. Baby boomers are beginning to retire and collect Social Security and other benefits. They will learn that these benefits are not at all what has been promised…this will leave new retirees even more vulnerable. 78-million Baby boomers are coming onto the scene.
13. Pension plans are in serious jeopardy of going broke. There also are plans to convert those pensions that do not disappear into a new form of social security from which ALL can benefit.
14. Jobs have been “out sourced” to nations with cheaper labor pools. The “spread the wealth around” philosophy has already created a divide between the haves and the have-nots; the rich and the poor, and the middle-class of
I pray I am wrong. I pray you will be able to tell me so by the end of this year. I WILL apologize, publicly. But if I am correct how will you respond to what I have reported? Are you prepared…even if only half of what I have stated is true, will you be affected? How? Could you withstand even a half-hit of my assessment? DO NOT depend on the government to fix the crisis we are still experiencing. They are creating it, even more so but quietly and away from public notice.
On Christmas Eve, the Congress of the
The past year witnessed the Federal Government financially prop-up
We are witnessing the paying-off of campaign debts at the expense of all of us. This is no longer an economic crisis. It is a crisis in lack of moral leadership on both sides of the aisle; Republicans and Democrats who would rather pay-off interest groups or keep other vital groups happy and content for re-election purposes; all at the expense of small business, “Joe the Plummer,” you and me, our children, and our children’s children. A travesty in
Prepare for another economic storm, an even bigger one than what we have withstood. Prepare to fend for yourself. Prepare, with neighbors, to band together to provide for one another just like we saw during Katrina. Prepare yourself emotionally for some rough days and experiences foreign to the American way of life, as we have known her. What steps do you seriously need to take if I am correct? Even if I am only half correct in this report, can you withstand the fallout? Please…please don’t remain in a slumber state. Please don’t remain in a state of denial. If nothing else, talk to your family from a hypothetical standpoint about this information. Ask them, and yourself, “What if?”
