RFFM.org Exclusive
RFFM.org is reporting the scheduled U.S. Senate Republican candidates debate to be hosted by the League of Women Voters tonight will only be available to Comcast viewers in the Chicagoland area on Channel 217 at 7 P.M. A spokesman for WLS-TV told RFFM.org the debate will not be made available to all Chicagoland viewers, except through the ABC 7 website.
It is not clear whether Chicagoland viewers who do not subscribe to Comcast will be able to view the debate on Channel 7 at 11:05 P.M.
"It's my understanding the debate will be rebroadcast at 11:05 P.M. this evening to all Chicagoland viewers," said John Arrington, one of the participants in tonight's debate.
Although there are six candidates seeking the GOP nomination for the U.S. Senate from Illinois, only three candidates will debate this evening: John Arrington, Andy Martin and Patrick Hughes.
"If the debate is not made available to all Chicagoland viewers, it is censorship," said a spokesman for a political candidate who preferred anonymity.
Many allege the establishment is aiding the candidacy of Mark Kirk who earlier this week opted out of the Channel 7 debate.
Interested viewers throughout the rest of the state should access ABC owned stations to see if the debate is being broadcast to all viewers in their area.
